Boris Diaw and Biscarosse in the semi-finals of the Coupe des Landes

Boris Diaw’s band is two matches away from their dream: winning the prestigious Coupe des Landes. The one who convinced the former Blues interior player to come out of retirement this season to join Biscarrosse Olympique with his friends including Simon Darnauzan, a former international like him. Saturday evening, the Departmental 3 club emerged victorious in their quarter-final against Coteaux du Luy (92-79). “Bisca” was very hot though.

Despite 42 points behind – 7 per division difference with the opponent, resident of Nationale 3 – the CLB came back on the heels of Diaw and his teammates in the last quarter (87-76, 36th). “It was very difficult, especially from the 2nd quarter. They really put a lot of energy into it, we saw them really come back, at such a pace that they could have won. But we were ready, we didn’t panic and we managed to get back into the match,” reacted the general manager of the Blues in the columns of Sud-Ouest.

The semi-finals will take place on the weekend of May 10 and 11. In addition to Biscarosse, remaining in the running are: Tursan Basket Chalosse (Pre-National), Elan Tursan (Pre-National) and Elan Souémontain Montgaillardais Sarraziétois (National 2) of former Pau-Orthez player Rémi Lesca . The final will be held on June 1, under the open sky, in the Mont-de-Marsan arenas.
