Boniek without brakes. Ruthless art after the Poland match

On Thursday, March 21, the Polish national team started competing in the play-offs for the European Championships. Its first rival was Estonia, ranked 123rd in the FIFA rankings. The team led by Michał Probierz was clearly better at the National Stadium in Warsaw. After the first half, the team was leading 1-0, and their opponents complicated the situation when Maksim Paskotsi was sent off. In the second part, the White and Reds went into fifth gear. Piotr Zieliński, Jakub Piotrowski, Sebastian Szymański were among the scorers, and Karol Mets scored an own goal. Kristo Hussar scored an honorary goal for Estonia.

Watch the video Kamil Grosicki’s clear declaration. “I am ready”

– From the very beginning we played in good style, we were able to create goal opportunities and we scored a goal quickly. Nicola Zalewski took advantage of the opponent’s mistakes, got fouled twice and from then on we played with an advantage. I liked that we tried to play not only with crosses, but also after actions in the middle of the pitch – said Michał Probierz at the post-match press conference.

Zbigniew Boniek spoke after the Poland – Estonia match. He gave a strong pin to our rivals. He made a joke

After the victory against Estonia, Zbigniew Boniek was a guest of the Meczyki.pl channel. The former president of the Polish Football Association tried to make a joke with Estonians in the main role. He referred to the squad from the 1970s.

– To paraphrase Grzegorz Lata: If the Polish national team from the 1970s had played against Estonia, they would have won 1-0. Why only 1:0? Because we are 70 years old, said Boniek.

He added: – I wouldn’t deprecate Poland’s victory, but I wouldn’t talk about it being something big. The enemy was weak. Widzew Łódź does not go to matches like those with Estonia. Widzew is made for football with a capital “P” – he summed up.

The 5-1 victory against Estonia allowed the Reds and Whites to advance to the final of the Euro 2024 play-offs. In the decisive match, they will face Wales away. This meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 26 at 8:45 p.m. Live coverage on Sport.pl and in the Sport.pl LIVE application.
