Blue Jays continue to struggle in preseason, Manoah sidelined with elbow pain

The Toronto Blue Jays suffered defeat for the sixth time in eight games since the start of the preseason schedule.

Saturday afternoon, in Florida, the only Canadian club in major baseball lost 6 to 2 against the Atlanta Braves.

mlb.com reported that the 26-year-old athlete is experiencing pain in his right elbow. Medical examinations showed that he did not suffer any damage. The gunner’s state of health will be reassessed on a daily basis.

Last Tuesday, in his first start of the preseason schedule, Manoah hit three Detroit Tigers players in less than two innings of work. He was removed from the game after only 38 pitches, after an inning and two thirds of work. During his time on the mound, he gave up four runs on three hits.

Last year, the tall 6’6″ right-hander had a very difficult season and was notably relegated to the minors. In the major leagues, he had a 3-9 record and a 5.87 ERA in 19 starts.
