Judo was also among the 8 disciplines that characterized the Trisome Games in Antalya, Turkey, the international games for athletes with Down syndrome. Two athletes from Biella defended the colors of Italy, winning 4 medals.
They are Martina Tomba and Francesco Verrengia, athletes now accustomed to excelling both nationally and internationally: Tomba won gold in the 48 kilogram category, bronze in the 66 kilogram category. The two from Biella also won bronze in the team competition.
