An unknown person is believed to have stolen a bicycle battery in Gronau on Wednesday. When the injured party got to his Pedelec around 2:30 p.m., he saw a man around 35 to 45 years old with light, short hair and a three-day beard who was fiddling with his bike. The perpetrator had already loosened the power storage unit using a lever tool when a scuffle and subsequent escape broke out. The loot and a backpack remained behind. From a bicycle parking space on Konrad-Adenauer-Straße we went towards Hohe Straße and on to Enscheder Straße. There the trace of the fugitive, who was wearing black trousers, a light-colored hoody and a baseball cap, was lost. When the pursuer returned to his bike, the battery and backpack were gone.
