Bernhard Langer Reveals Pickleball Accident Caused Achilles Tendon Rupture, Forcing Him to Miss the Masters

The real reason Bernhard Langer (Germany), known as the king of the PGA Senior Tour, suffered an Achilles tendon rupture that prevented him from competing in the Masters has been revealed.

Langer, who had only explained that he “got hurt while practicing,” revealed on the 15th (Korean time) on a podcast radio, “I tore my left Achilles tendon while playing pickleball.”

Langer announced on the 4th of last month that he would not be able to play for the time being due to an Achilles tendon injury.

Pickleball is a new sport that combines badminton, tennis, and table tennis, and has become popular in the United States, especially among celebrities, due to word of mouth that it is the best for losing weight.

The court is similar to a badminton or tennis court, but smaller.

The racket is similar to a table tennis racket, but slightly larger.

You can either hit the ball passed by the opponent as is, or you can hit it after it bounces once inside the court.

Because it takes several months for a torn Achilles tendon to be sutured and completely healed, Langer’s Masters ‘Last Dance’ was canceled this year.

Langer, who has a lifetime ticket to the Masters after winning in 1985 and 1993, announced early on that he would not compete in the Masters starting next year, when he turns 67.

He said, “I do a lot of different exercises to maintain my weight, and pickleball is a sport I always play,” and added, “My opponent attacked me with a lob shot.

“I stepped back, raised the racket above my shoulder, and hit it, but suddenly a loud sound came from my foot, like a gunshot,” he said, recalling the moment his Achilles tendon ruptured.

Langer added, “I knew at that moment that my Achilles tendon was torn because I had seen many people rupture their Achilles tendons while playing basketball or other sports.”

Langer said, “The surgery is going well,” and announced today that he will return to the field in May.

Langer is famous for his ageless performance, including breaking the PGA Senior Tour record for most wins (46 wins) and oldest winner (65 years, 10 months, 5 days) at the same time last year.
