National Basketball Association (NBA) Brooklyn Nets player Ben Simmons will not play again this season due to health problems, announced club.
The 27-year-old Australian has been dealing with nerve damage in his lower back all season, having already missed three months. In late January, Simmons returned to the lineup, but played just nine games before his health began to struggle again. As a result, Simmons will work with his doctors to find ways to fix his chronic back problems so they don’t bother him long-term.
Simmons has played in just 15 games this season, averaging 6.1 points, 7.9 rebounds and 5.7 assists. “Nets” currently ranks 11th in the Eastern Conference with 25 wins in 63 games.
In the last years of his career, Simons was seriously troubled by health problems. 2021/2022 In the 2016 season, when the Philadelphia 76ers traded Simmons to the Nets, he missed the entire season. Meanwhile, last season, the Australian played only 42 out of 81 matches of the main tournament.
