Belgian Darts Open: Van den Bergh has to drop out immediately, De Decker against Smith tonight

Luke Littler was just able to avoid a sensational defeat, Dimitri Van den Bergh was not. Last weekend he triumphed at the UK Open, now he has to leave the Oktoberhallen with his tail between his legs.

Van den Bergh won the first leg against Stephen Bunting, number 17 in the world, but after that he had to continuously chase. When he finally caught the Englishman at 5-5, he also seemed to escape like Littler, but on his own leg things still went wrong for Dancing Dimi.

Mike De Decker is the only Belgian who could survive the first round. He narrowly won against the Dutchman Chris Landman. Born Van Put, Steven Strobbe, Jeroen Caron and Geert De Vos all lost without a chance.
