As of: March 23, 2024 11:57 p.m

With a home win against Würzburg, Ulm shortened the gap to the top four in the Basketball Bundesliga. At the bottom of the table, the Merlins Crailsheim are hopeful.

Ulm celebrated an 87:79 home win against fourth-placed Würzburg Baskets on Saturday (March 23, 2024). Ulm got off to a great start in front of its own crowd, quickly taking the lead 15:6 and 22:13 in the second quarter.

In the second half, the guests got going better and were within two points by the halftime score of 46:48. After that, however, the Baskets broke one. After 33 points in the second half of the game, there were only nine points in the following ten minutes.

Even a 24:17 score in the final quarter couldn’t make up for that, so Ulm were able to celebrate their 16th win of the season with 87:79 and are only just behind Würzburg in seventh place. Justinian Jessup was Ulm’s most successful shooter with 27 points, including four from beyond the three-point line.

Cook leads Crailsheim to victory

At the other end of the table, bottom team Crailsheim took its fifth win of the season. In the 80:76 win against BG Göttingen, Keandre Cook was the best scorer with 24 points.

With the success after five defeats in a row, Crailsheim has regained its connection to the non-relegation places.
