Bayern’s goalkeeping coach Michaelrechner expects Manuel Neuer to be out of action for a short time. “The timing is unfortunate. But basically it’s just a small injury,” he said Sky on Friday. “He is being treated and is on the right track. The injury is nothing dramatic. He will come back quickly.” Neuer sustained a thigh injury while playing for the national team on Thursday.

“We’ll see next week how he’s doing and when he can be back on the pitch. He’s not under any pressure at all,” continuedrechner. Neuer will be out for the DFB team in the friendly games this Saturday in Lyon against France and on Tuesday in Frankfurt/Main against the Netherlands.

First Dortmund, then Heidenheim

On March 30th, Bayern will host Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga after the international break. “It can of course be very, very close against Dortmund,” saidrechner. “I’m currently assuming that it probably won’t be enough for Dortmund.”

On April 6th, the record champions have to play against promoted team 1. FC Heidenheim. Bayern are second in the Bundesliga with eight match days to go, ten points behind Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Sven Ulreich represented Neuer in eight games in the league this season.
