According to BILD information, Bayern jewel Aleksandar Pavlovic (19) will be called up to the German national team for the upcoming international matches. National coach Julian Nagelsmann (36) will surprisingly not nominate Leon Goretzka (29) (BILD reported exclusively).

Freund says of the 57-time national player: “It’s a shame because Leon has done well in the last few games. He is an absolute leader for us, scored important goals in the last game and generally performed well. But it’s a decision from the team boss.”

In fact, Goretzka had improved in recent games. He was recently back in midfield for the German record champions (starting eleven times in a row). He impressed with two goals and two assists in the 8-1 win against Mainz, played well against Lazio Rome (3-0) and even played well as a kind of libero in Freiburg (2-2).

There are two reasons why Pavlovic is nominated instead of Goretzka. On the one hand, the two-footed midfielder enjoys great trust under Bayern coach Tuchel, which he repays with strong performances (12 appearances, including 4 scorer points).
On the other hand, Pavlovic was courted by the Serbian association. Pavlovic’s father comes from Serbia, so he could also play for the Serbian national team.
