Battle of Colors: When Sports and Art Collide for a Good Cause

Basthorst • For Glücksmaler, sport and art somehow belong together Michael Frahm (photo below, M.) clear early on. He has been practicing judo as a competitive sport since childhood. Although he initially put his passion for art aside, he now lives it out completely professionally. Now both elements should find each other again. “It’s not called ‘martial arts’ for nothing – this play on words just makes it possible to do something crazy,” says Frahm. At the 28. April the time has finally come and the artist invites you to the “Battle of Colors” in his art house. On the one hand, children and young people have the opportunity to try out various martial arts and learn more about movement sequences, but also teamwork, discipline, respect and ambition. “In this way, club sports should become more important again.” On the other hand, there will be a large-scale art event. The multiple world champions and Olympic champions in judo fight, Ramona and Carmen Brussig (Photo u., lur), against each other and act as living brushes. During the fight, the athletes are sprayed with paint from the side. As they fight, the colors then spread dynamically onto the canvas below them. This creates an oversized painting. The canvas is then divided into pieces of different sizes, framed and sold to benefit young sports. This is intended to make additional training and competition trips possible for all social classes. But you can try out more than just sports. There are free art courses for children up to 12 years old at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. (registration at [email protected]).
A bouncy castle, delicious food with suckling pig and bratwurst as well as drinks round off the program.
