Basketball professional Zaccheus Darko-Kelly will leave the relegation-threatened Bundesliga basketball team Tigers Tübingen on April 1st after less than a season. The 26-year-old American will be moving to the Otago Nuggets in New Zealand, the Tübingen-based team announced on Wednesday. In New Zealand the season doesn’t start until the end of March. “Our squad is currently extremely large,” said coach Danny Jansson, explaining the decision: “It was clear to both sides that he might not always be in the squad for the next few games. He came back from a more serious injury in the summer.”
Darko-Kelly came to Tübingen from PAOK Saloniki last summer. In Greece he broke his left ankle and had to end the season early.
