At the beginning of the game, however, there was nothing to indicate a big away win for the Saxons. Many missed throws and bad passes meant that the Niners were temporarily behind by 14 points. The Spaniards’ tactically well-adjusted defense in particular posed problems for the Chemnitz team. It was mainly thanks to DeAndre Lansdowne and his 13 points in the first half that the halftime deficit was only five points.

DeAndre Lansdowne also had reason to be happy in Bilbao.

Increased performance in the second half

In the second half, the spectators saw a completely different picture. Now the Saxons scored from all positions – Bilbao even lost their nerve from the free throw line. The lead quickly changed to the Chemnitz side and later grew every minute. Bilbao was no longer able to shorten the distance. The best thrower of the evening was DeAndre Lansdowne with 22 points.

Before the return game, the Niners have an East duel. On Saturday (March 30th) the Saxons travel to the MBC.
