Atlanta Hawks drop third straight game with loss to Utah Jazz in NBA action

Atlanta conceded its third defeat in a row on Friday in the NBA. Clint Capela and his teammates lost 124-122 on the Utah Jazz floor.

The Hawks, who had won three matches in a row just before this negative series, nevertheless had their chances at the end of the match. They even benefited from three possessions after a winning basket from Dejounte Murray (33 points in total) allowed them to get within 2 points (124-122) 1’18” from the end of the match.

But Murray, twice, then Vit Krejci 1”2 from the ‘buzzer’ missed the target. Each time seeking to score the 3-point victory basket, as is customary in the NBA, when 2 points would have been enough to offer the Hawks an extension. Krejci did not make any attempted shots behind the arc on Friday…

Clint Capela has nothing to reproach himself for at the end of this game, which he finished with a balanced differential. The Geneva interior signed his fourth consecutive double-double by accumulating 10 points and 15 rebounds (including 7 captured in the offensive phase). He also made 4 assists and 2 blocks in 32′ of play.

Despite this setback, their 29th in 66 matches in this 2023/24 financial year, the Hawks cling to 10th place in the Eastern Conference, the last synonymous with play-in. Atlanta, for whom this is the sixth series of the season with three or more defeats, will try to bounce back on Sunday in Los Angeles against the Clippers.
