Asvel loses to Olympiakos in the Euroleague

In the port of Piraeus, the Villeurbannais showed resistance before collapsing in the last minutes against the Greeks (80-64).

Like Tuesday in Belgrade against Maccabi Tel Aviv, Asvel competed for a long time with Olympiacos in its room, but ended up losing to a candidate for the play-offs, Thursday in Piraeus (80-64) at the occasion of the 31st day of Euroleague basketball.

The Villeurbannais led at the start of the final quarter (55-54) after limiting the Greeks to just 11 points in the third quarter. But they did not last the distance against Moustapha Fall’s partners (12 pts, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in 23 minutes).

The teammates of Timothée Luwawu-Cabarrot (14 pts, 3 rebounds and 4 pd) and Nando De Colo (10 pts and 4 lost balls) suffered their 24th European defeat of the season and remained in penultimate place.
