Argentine Badminton Teams Under DTN Martin Trejo and Estanislao Othar Prepare for 2024 Challenges

Under the orbit of DTN Martin Trejo and youth coach Estanislao Othar, the Argentine Badminton teams are in the last leg of their preparation with a view to 2024 with new challenges.

“The youth group trains in the afternoons. And in the morning shift, the seniors. The senior group, which will be reinforced with the boys who are in Europe such as Iona Gualdi (Spain) and the brothers Nicolás and Ailen Oliva (Italy) , will face the next Pan American Badminton Championship in Guatemala,” reported Trejo.

On March 29, they will travel to the Central American country to face the contest that will take place from April 10 to 14. “We have the support of ENARD to be able to travel to this tournament, which is very important. Argentina won two Pan American diplomas for the first time in Santiago 2023 and the idea is to continue growing,” he remarked.

Trejo explained that long-term work is paying off. “We made a generational change for Lima 2019, the boys were adding experience and today they are at a very good level. Now, we are expanding the player base: there are 41 players that we observe, that we monitor and from there the selected or new ones come out talents,” he commented.

Meanwhile, the juniors are aiming for a camp that will be held in June at CeNARD under the organization of the Pan American Badminton Confederation. And they could also be part of the Junior Pan American in Mexico.
