Argentina Sends Strong Archery Team to South American Tournament in Rio de Janeiro

Argentina will be present in Rio de Janeiro with nine goalkeepers. Marcelo Olivetto and Claudio Marconi, from the Palihue club, will also participate in the +50 category.

Nine athletes from our country will participate until Sunday in the South American archery tournament in Maricá, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and there will be a presence from Bahia.

Guillermina Gonzalez, Marcelo Olivetto and Claudio Marconi will speak.

After concentrating five days in the Cenard and the Cenade, Guille, representative of the Círculo Bahiense de Arquería, will compete in the compound bow modality and in the U21 category (he could also participate in senior).

While Olivetto and Marcoci, from the Palihue club, will shoot with a recurve bow and at +50.

Also present will be Lurense Bruno Almirón who, despite being under 18, will shoot in the U21 in the compound modality to team up with González.

The national delegation is completed by archers Bruno Almirón (compound, U21), Damián Jajaravilla (recurve, senior), Ioana Menéndez (compound, +50), Alma Pueyo López (recurve, senior), Patricia Ríos (barebow) and Mónica Villarreal (barebow ). The coaches in charge are Mauro De Mattia and Gabriel Marti.

Two locally renowned archers will not be able to attend: Iván Nikolajuk (lack of funding) and Florencia Leithold (shoulder injury).
