Arcam’Ys Archery Club Wins Departmental Mixed Trophy Event

This Saturday March 2, Arcam’Ys the Yssingeaux archery club organized the “departmental mixed trophy” at the Montbarnier gymnasium.

This competition made up of mixed teams was orchestrated by Isabelle Mercier, from the departmental committee and two other referees.

Its objective is to promote women’s archery by having an archer and an archer from the same club and the same weapon compete together.
13 teams from Haute-Loire were in the running: one of the Archers du Lignon (Le Chambon-sur-Lignon), one of the Archers de la Jeune Loire (Monistrol-sur-Loire), four of the Archers du Velay (Espaly-Saint- Marcel) and seven of the Archers of the Pays des Sucs (Yssingeaux); in 4 categories: “neo classic” (beginner archers), bare bow, compound bow and recurve bow.

It is a team from Arcam’Ys which ends up winner of this trophy with the team of Jacqueline Delaye and Marc De Mijolla. This team is already qualified for the national final of the Mixed Trophy which will take place at the end of June, in TAE (50 meter away shooting), in Chennevières sur Marne (Val-de-Marne).

Arcam’Ys supporters will have something to whet their appetite before the archery events at the Paris Olympic Games!
