Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti advanced to the last 16 of the All England 2024 after eliminating India’s representatives, Treesa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand with a score of 21-18, 21-12 at the Utilita Arena, Birmingham, Wednesday (13/3) early morning WIB.
Apri/Fadia made a smooth start when facing Jolly/Gopichand. Apri/Fadia were able to maintain a four-point lead at 8-4.
Apri/Fadia can maintain this advantage until they reach 10-6. Jolly/Gopichand managed to win one point but Apri/Fadia were able to lead 11-7 at the interval.
Jolly/Gopichand recovered after the interval by winning five points in a row when the score was 7-12. The score changed to 12-12.
Jolly/Gopichand’s pressure made Apri/Fadia continue to make mistakes until they fell behind 15-17. In a situation where they were left behind, Apri/Fadia were able to turn the situation around until they finally won 21-18 in the first game.
Apri/Fadia played more consistently in the second game. This Indonesian pair even had a long lead of 10-3 before closing the second game interval with a score of 11-6.
Jolly/Gopichand have actually tried to provide resistance. However, the calmness shown by Apri/Fadia allowed the Indonesian representatives to close the second game with a convincing score of 21-12.
This result makes Apri/Fadia the fifth Indonesian representatives to successfully advance to the last 16 of the All England 2024 following in the footsteps of Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, Anthony Ginting, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.
