Anthony Edwards on Dunk: “It gives me goosebumps”
Edwards’ teammates were also euphoric after the game. “I don’t think people understand what they saw,” said Nickeil Alexander-Walker. “Just go to the free throw line, take a step and try to dunk and you’ll understand what the hell he did. That’s the wildest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Edwards also stated that he didn’t believe he would complete the dunk since he was so far away from the hoop. “It gives me goosebumps. I always dreamed of doing a dunk like that because I grew up watching Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady do it,” said the 22-year-old All-Star.
Edwards scored 25 of his 32 points in the second half to lead the Wolves to a 114-104 win in Salt Lake City, lifting Minnesota back to second place in the Western Conference as they currently hold the tiebreaker against Denver (1-0, three more games). The Oklahoma City Thunder are still at the top with a record of 47-20 and a half game lead.
