Andrey Rublev’s Appeal Success: Top 5 ATP Ranking Maintained

He didn’t lose everything after all. Disqualified for having intimidated and yelled at a line judge at the end of his semi-final in Dubai, Andrey Rublev also had to pay a $36,400 fine and be deprived of ATP points (200) and prize money corresponding to his journey in the Emirati ATP 500 tournament ($150,000). As a result, he should have slipped to 6th place in the ATP rankings behind Alexander Zverev this Monday. But the Russian remained in the Top 5. Why? Quite simply because his appeal bore fruit.
