An eighth suspect in the terrorist attack in Moscow is arrested – El Sol de México

The Basmanni Court in Moscow today ordered a two-month preventive detention for an eighth suspect involved in last Friday’s terrorist attack at a concert hall near Moscow, who denied his guilt during the court hearing.

The arrested person is Alisher Kasimov, 32, a Russian citizen of Kyrgyz origin who, according to the investigation, rented his apartment to the alleged perpetrators of the massacre, which left at least 139 dead.

Kasimov denied his guilt and claimed that he only placed an advertisement for the rental of the apartment on a website and did not know the future tenants.

The man’s mother, who was attending the court hearing, also assured the press that her son is innocent and was unaware of the plans of the tenants of his house.

According to her, the tenants told her that they were going to work at some construction site.

In the last two days, Justice has already ruled preventive detention for seven others involved in the attack.

The alleged perpetrators of the crime were charged with terrorism charges and could face life in prison.

Several Russian politicians have already suggested the need to reinstate the death penalty for those convicted of terrorism.
