Alvark Tokyo and TOKYO UNITE Kids Sports Festival: Fostering a Love for Sports Among Tokyo’s Youth

Thank you for your continued support of Alvark Tokyo.

Hiryu Okamoto, Alvark cheerleader, and Luke participated in the “TOKYO UNITE Kids Sports Festival in Ryogoku Kokugikan” held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, and had a basketball experience corner and a cheerleading experience corner respectively. I was in charge.

At this event, elementary school students living or attending school in Tokyo were able to experience multiple sports at once, including baseball, soccer, basketball, rugby, table tennis, sumo, and cheerleading, with players, academy coaches, and alumni.

Comment from Okamoto

I am very happy that I was able to participate in an event like this and was able to expose many children to many different sports. It was a valuable experience for me to be able to try out sports that I don’t normally play, such as rugby and table tennis, and to be able to experience disaster prevention efforts. Chanko was also delicious!
We hope that events like this will help children become more familiar with and enjoy sports.

This event was attended by a total of 14 teams and organizations from 6 sports belonging to TOKYO UNITE, as well as the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and the event was structured so that children could enjoy the experience by taking turns in all the sports.
We hope that through this event, children who are exposed to sports that they would not normally be able to participate in will have the opportunity to experience the joy of playing and watching sports even more.

As a member of TOKYO UNITE, Alvark Tokyo will continue to work with each team and organization to enhance the appeal of sports, and to take action to address various social issues.
