Avoid leaving without a transfer

According to a “Sky” report, left-back Alphonso Davies (23) will soon have to decide whether or not to stay at FC Bayern Munich. The German record champions would like a clear statement from Davies this week as to whether he will extend his contract, which expires in 2025 and which he signed in April 2020. The Canadian has a final offer from Bayern.

“I can say: We made Alphonso a very concrete, appreciative offer. At some point in life you have to say yes or no,” Munich’s sports director Max Eberl recently told “Sport Bild”. According to Davies’ ideas, a new contract should contain a gross salary of around 20 million euros, while Bayern are ready for a salary of up to 14 million. His current contract reportedly brings the Canadian around 9 million euros per season.

If the 23-year-old, who does not show the consistency of previous years this season, decides against Bayern’s contract offer, a sale in the summer would not be unlikely. “No club wants to lose players for free,” Eberl admitted when he was introduced in February. This happened to Bayern in 2022 with Niklas Süle (BVB) and in 2021 with David Alaba (Real Madrid).

Real Madrid is courting FC Bayern left-back Alphonso Davies

According to consistent media reports, Real Madrid are said to have serious interest in the left-back, who is the world’s most valuable player in his position with a market value of 70 million euros. That could change as part of the market value update in the Bundesliga this Wednesday. Despite the short contract term, the Munich team is said to be aiming for a transfer fee of around 50 million euros.
