Almere Badminton Association Falls Short in Dutch Championship Final against DKC

Badminton Association Almere failed to become Dutch champion on Saturday. In the final of the Eredivisie, the team lost 5-1 to DKC from The Hague.

In the Maaspoort in Den Bosch, the women’s doubles Seinen/De Wit took the only point for the Almeers. It was the first time in history that DKC and Almere faced each other in the final battle. Almere was already eliminated in the semi-finals last year by the team from The Hague. On Saturday morning, the supporters left the Raggers sports hall in Almere with complete confidence.

Almere came into action for the sixth time during the final. Coach Dave Khodabux’s team only won the title in 2020.

In advance, players Dennis Koppen and Dyon van Wijlick had already indicated in a preview that DKC went into the final this year as favorites. The men knew everything had to be right against DKC to win the game.
