Algeria closed its participation in the African Games in Accra, Ghana (March 8-23, 2024), with a total of 114 medals (29 gold, 38 silver and 47 bronze), finishing in 4th position in a meeting , which ended on Saturday evening, passing the baton to Egypt, host of the next edition in 2027.
In the final ranking established by the organizing committee, Algeria was overtaken, respectively, by South Africa, 3rd with 106 medals (32 gold, 32 silver and 42 bronze), Nigeria, 2nd with 121 medals (47 gold, 34 silver and 40 bronze), and Egypt which dominated the games with a total of 191 medals (102 gold, 47 silver and 42 bronze). Tunisia closes the Top five, with a harvest of 88 consecrations (22 gold, 27 silver, 39 bronze).
Algeria participated in the African Games in Accra with a delegation of 299 people including 222 athletes. It was represented in 18 disciplines including four qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris (badminton, tennis, table tennis and triathlon).

WEIGHTLIFTING: Samir Fardjallah (snatch, clean and jerk, total in the 73kgs).
WRESTLING: Ouakali Abdelkrim (Greco-Roman/77kg), Sid Azara Bachir (Greco-Roman/87kg)
JUDO: Lili Mohamed El Mehdi (+100kg) and Amina Belkadi (-63kg).
ATHETICS: Medhi Amar-rouana (pole), Zahra Tatar (hammer).
BADMINTON: men’s doubles and mixed doubles.
BASKETBALL: the 3×3 basketball team (U23 boys).
ECHECS: Lina Nassr (individual Blizt).
