Alejandra Valencia, as the leader in the points of the women’s recurve modality, will resume the activity of the National Selective Archery Team, which will have its fourth and final stage to define Mexico’s starters heading to the next Olympic Games.

Valencia Trujillo, brand new runner-up in the world, is part of the group of six archers who from Wednesday to Sunday will shoot arrows at the CNAR facilities, with the aim of knowing the names of the three female members (recurve) en route to Paris 2024.

After three stages completed, the bronze medalist in Tokyo 2020 leads the list with 205 points, followed by Ángela Ruiz from Coahuila (201) and Ana Paula Vázquez (126); Behind them are the capital’s Aída Román (103) and the New Yorkers Mariana Avitia (97) and Valentina Vázquez (92).

In the men’s branch, Matías Grande (231), originally from Coahuila, dominates the table over Carlos Rojas from Queretaro (177) and Bruno Martínez from Coahuila (123); Below appear the Baja Californian Luis “Abuelo” Álvarez (104), the Neolonian Emilio Treviño (96) and the Quintana Roo Saúl Pech (58).

The situation in the men’s branch is different from the women’s, since only one of the maximum of three places in the 2024 Olympics is guaranteed, therefore, the three best archers of the National Team will try to get the other two tickets in the Pan American Cup of Arquería based in Medellín, Colombia
