After two competitive defeats in a row, Alba Berlin has found its way back to success in the Basketball Bundesliga. On Sunday evening, the capital city team won at home in front of 8,570 spectators against EWE Baskets Oldenburg with 85:67 (45:36). Alba remains third in the table. The best Berlin throwers were Johannes Thiemann and Tim Schneider with 13 points each.

Coach Israel Gonzalez gave the Italian duo Matteo Spagnolo and Gabriele Procida a breather. His team started weakly and was already 0:8 behind after two and a half minutes. But the capital team responded immediately with a 12-2 run. However, there was still no real rhythm in the game. The Oldenburgers in particular usually operated physically at the border or often beyond. There were a lot of foul calls and free throws. Alba allowed too many offensive rebounds and lost a few balls, but overall was more accurate.

Even after the break, things remained hectic at first. The Berliners now defended better and only allowed four points in the first six minutes. They were able to pull ahead 57:40 midway through the third quarter. At the beginning of the last section it even reached twenty points for the first time (70:50).
