‘Ajax handled it very clumsily with Brian Brobbey’

Jeroen Elshoff believes that Ajax could have handled things more efficiently with Brian Brobbey in the past period. The Amsterdam striker cannot play for the time being due to a hamstring injury, and according to the NOS commentator you could have seen such an injury coming for some time.
Brobbey was part of the selection of the Dutch national team for the friendlies against Scotland and Germany. However, last weekend he injured his hamstring during Sparta Rotterdam – Ajax (2-2), as a result of which he had to withdraw from the Dutch team.
The NOS Football Podcast discusses the striker position of the Dutch national team during the European Championships in Germany next summer. According to commentator Jeroen Grueter, Memphis Depay is the best striker the Netherlands currently has. He is less impressed by Wout Weghorst and Brobbey.
“Brobbey… he is doing well at Ajax, but now he is injured again,” Grueter begins. “That will be a very interesting fact: you are only allowed to take 23 players with you (to the European Championship, ed.). But you are still allowed to substitute five times in a match. So that means that as a substitute you are also offered quite a lot. will come.”

Fellow commentator Elshoff counters that Brobbey still has quite some time to recover from his injury before the European Championship starts. “Just in defense of Brobbey…” said Elshoff. “Some things have been said about it, and I belong to the group that thinks that Ajax has handled this very clumsily in its taxes. You already saw this coming.”
“But before that he of course showed that he has gotten rid of the hassle of the previous seasons, always being injured. This injury is a fact, but in the past we have also taken players who were simply trained to a tournament. He still has plenty of time to get fit.”
