Empty spectator seats during the BRI Liga 1 match between Persib Bandung and Persija Jakarta at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG—PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat (PBB) appealed to the Bobotohs not to come to watch the Persib Bandung match against Persikabo 1973 at the I Wayan Dipta Stadium Gianyar, Bali, Friday (15/3/2024) in the 29th week Liga I. As is known, Persib Bandung will play the first match in the fasting month of Ramadhan 1445 Hijriah.
“I think all Bobotoh already know the regulations prohibiting visiting supporters from coming to away matches. However, we still feel the need to remind Bobotoh not to come to Gianyar’s Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium,” said PT PBB Operational Vice President Andang Ruhiat, Thursday (14/3/ 2024).
If Bobotoh continues to be determined to come to the stadium, he said, Persib Bandung will suffer the impact, namely sanctions. Therefore, he asked Bobotoh to watch at home. “So, just pray for Persib to win from home or at a place to watch together. I think that’s the best support that Persib is waiting for right now,” he said.
Previously, Persib Bandung received a fine from the PSSI Disciplinary Commission of IDR 25 million and a ban on spectators at home against Persija Jakarta some time ago. This decision arose due to chaos from supporters when Persib Bandung played against PSIS Semarang at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium.
Persib Bandung finally filed an appeal. However, the appeal was immediately rejected by the PSSI Disciplinary Commission. When playing against PSIS Semarang at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, visiting supporters came to the stadium and asked to rush into the stadium. They were also involved in a riot with Persib Bandung supporters. This incident was assessed by the PSSI Disciplinary Commission as a form of bad spectator behavior.
