The Most Valuable Player of the American League Championship Series (MVP), Adolis García, declared himself ready to return to Major League Baseball (MLB) activity with the current champions, Texas Rangers.

It was in Game 3 of the World Series on October 30 when García saw action for the last time, before going on the injured list with a strained oblique muscle that kept him out for the rest of the Fall Classic.

However, despite being inactive for 128 days, Adolis managed to keep up the pace in his Cactus League debut, hitting a 398-foot home run against the Colorado Rockies at Salt River Fields on Wednesday.

“I feel good,” said the slugger. “It was a good day and it’s good to be back. [Conectar el jonrón] It’s a good feeling. I’ve been working on my settings every day, even when I wasn’t playing. I feel good”.

Garcia had not played in any of the Rangers’ first 12 preseason games, but manager Bruce Bochy insisted that he was not injured, but that the coaching staff was simply taking it easy.

“He’s been hitting well, I said that earlier today,” manager Bruce Bochy said. “He had a good at-bat. Even the double play ball, he hit it hard. So it’s good to see where he is right now, just getting started in these games. It looks like he’s on schedule with the fastball and the breaking pitch.”
