ADO Den Haag Women Hold PSV to Draw: Promises Fulfilled After Winter Break

When visiting PSV, the promises of ADO Den Haag Women continued the good series of matches after the winter break. The Eindhoven leader of the First Division (formerly the U23 competition) came away with a points division.

PSV under pressure

With three players in the starting line-up this season who were transferred directly from the under-16 girls to the reserves, the Hague team started off very well at De Herdgang in Eindhoven. Completely according to plan, PSV was put under pressure high on the field. The guests were dominant and quickly created opportunities. This resulted in a lead in the 9th minute. Under 17 international Victoria Boerboom found Floor Bol and the attacker, who started as right winger, struck immediately: 0-1. The Eindhoven team had difficulty dealing with that sword blow, but the first time they penetrated the Hague penalty area, they heard the referee whistle for a penalty. A week after her debut for the main squad, goalkeeper Fleur de Bruijn had to bow her head: 1-1. That goal started a bad period. Although the defense of The Hague no longer allowed the home team any chances, there was also much less danger from The Hague.

Back on track

Coaches Bianca Koppers and Olivier Dijk used the break to get their players back on track. The fans from The Hague who traveled saw their favorites regain more control after tea and use the long ball less. With new energy, PSV was once again put under pressure. Siwa Kuprowska provided the crowning achievement by leaving the goalkeeper without a chance 10 minutes after the break with a lob, the first goal in the First Division for the Polish goalgetter: 1-2. This time ADO Den Haag managed to hold on to the lead for longer. However, halfway through the second half, PSV took advantage of a poorly cleared cross: 2-2. In the final phase, combat football gained the upper hand and the referee felt compelled to use the yellow card several times. The best options remained for the guests. They were a little too eager to take the full profit with them to the Hofstad.

As number two in the First Division, the promises will receive Ajax at Houtrust on Easter Saturday (2.30 p.m.).
