In addition to his winning basket, Adebayo stood out for his team by finishing the match with 20 points and 17 rebounds.
The Heat’s top scorer, however, was Duncan Robinson. He finished the duel with 30 points. Robinson also became the fastest player in NBA history to reach 1,000 three-pointers during his career. He achieved the feat in his 344th match.
The old record belonged to Buddy Hield who had achieved the same feat in 350 duels.
In the defeat, Evan Fournier had the best performance for the Pistons. The Frenchman collected 18 points during the match.
Detroit suffered a 55th defeat in 67 games this season and a second in a row against the Heat.
For its part, Miami has only a fourth victory in its last nine games.
