Tjoe-A-On underwent an Indonesian citizen oath procession on Monday (11/3). This Heerenveen player actually received a presidential decree (Keppres) as an Indonesian citizen on December 11 2023.

This also means that the arrival of Tjoe-A-On is not a solution to the main problem of the Indonesian National Team. The player position that is really needed right now is the front line or striker.
Currently PSSI is also processing the naturalization of three players. They are Ragnar Oratmangoen, Thom Haye, and Maarten Paes. The naturalization process for the three of them has been approved by the DPR RI.
Oratmangoen is a winger or attacking midfielder, Haye is a midfielder, and Paes is a goalkeeper. Of these three, it is possible that Oratmangoen has the opportunity to become Indonesia’s solution.
However, Oratmangoen’s potential is not promising. The proof is that Ragnar’s track record of sharpness is not very flashy. Throughout his professional career, Oratmangoen has only collected 17 goals.
The 17 goals were scored while defending TOP Oss in the 2018-1019 season and SC Cambuur in the 2019-2020 season. After that, Oratmangoen never scored another goal.
This season, for example, Oratmangoen defended Fortuna Sittard. Of the 23 matches he played in all competitions, no goals were scored. The sharpness is questionable.
That being said, Oratmangoen also has to adapt to other Indonesian national team players as well as Shin Tae Yong’s playing philosophy. It’s not just a guarantee that Oratmangoen will quickly integrate into the team.
Currently, after Tjoe-A-On officially became an Indonesian citizen, the total number of naturalized players used during Shin’s coaching period is eight. The number could be 11 with three new players.
Therefore, Shin’s naturalization policy will be tested against Vietnam in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. The Indonesia vs Vietnam match will take place on March 21 and 26.
Indonesia’s sharpness will be tested when playing at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium and My Dinh Stadium. Public expectations for the sharpness of the Indonesian National Team have increased with the presence of new players.
