“A matter that no longer concerns us”: Neymar’s father denies paying Dani Alves’ bail

On his Instagram account, Neymar Senior, the father of the Brazilian footballer, wanted to deny the information put forward by the Spanish press about him, after the courts accepted the provisional release requested by Daniel Alves, sentenced to four years and half in prison for rape.

This Wednesday, several Spanish media, including Vanguardia, assured that the bail of one million euros had been paid by Neymar’s father.

“As you all know, I first helped Dani Alves, without any link to any procedure,” he explains, referring to the legal fees of around 138,000 euros that the Neymar clan had paid to the former right side. This time, in a different situation from the previous one, where the Spanish justice has already decided on a conviction, we are speculating and trying to associate my name and that of my son with a case that no longer concerns us. I hope Daniel finds all the answers he seeks from his own family. For us, for my family, the matter is over. »

Dani Alves will therefore remain at least one more night in prison since his defense had, according to the AFP, not paid the sum in question this Thursday at 2 p.m., the daily deadline for this type of procedure.

In addition to the payment of this bail of one million euros, the court had set as conditions for his release from prison the confiscation of his two Spanish and Brazilian passports, the obligation to report to court every week, the ban on going out. of Spain, as well as the ban on approaching the victim and communicating with her.

Dani Alves had requested his release, pending his appeal trial, on Tuesday during a brief closed session before a Barcelona court. Both the prosecution and the civil party opposed this request, considering that the risk of flight was significant.

The victim’s lawyer, Ester García, has already announced that she will appeal this release decision, criticizing “justice for the rich”.

An argument taken up by the President of Brazil himself, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who estimated Wednesday evening that “the money that Daniel Alves has, the money that someone could lend him, cannot buy back the offense of a man towards a woman whom he has raped.”
