Jurij Rodionov showed an absolute top performance at the ATP indoor hard court challenger event in Koblenz at the beginning of the 2024 season: The Austrian secured the seventh title of his career with a strong final victory over the American Brandon Nakashima “small” men’s tour. After exactly 2:27 hours of play, the scoreboard showed a 6:7 (7), -6:1, -6:2 triumph for the Nuremberg native.

With the 100 world ranking points earned in Rhineland-Palatinate, Rodionov also achieved a new career best in the ATP ranking. Thanks to Federico Coria’s final defeat against his compatriot Camilo Ugo Carabelli at the Brazilian Challenger tournament in Piracicaba, the Lower Austrian will move up to 89th place and thus overtake Dominic Thiem as Austria’s number two.

Here is the individual tableau in Koblenz.
