All ready for‘XC City of Modica-Cyclowho will celebrate his birthday next Sunday fourth edition. Registrations for the race, which is also part of the Jonica Mtb Libertas Cup, are continuing in these hours, with a marked increase based on the progress of the first two stages in Vittoria (RG) and Nizza di Sicilia (ME).
The race track everything is designed within the Mangiagesso Equipped Area, for a length of 5.5 km and a height difference of 180 metres. A route with various ups and downs and gradients that reach 26%, albeit for short stretches, with technical single tracks and a racing terrain that alternates rocky, dirt and grassy sections in rapid succession. The race program foresees the start of the amateur categories at 9:00, while at 10:30 it will be the turn of the absolute ones. At 12.30 it will be the turn of the absolute novelty of this edition, the test reserved for E-bikes, the only similar race in Sicily, with the competitors divided by age into 4 male and 2 female categories. The cost of registration for this specific test is 20 euros.
The withdrawal of race numbers it can be carried out already on Saturday. The final awards ceremony will take place at 12.30pm.
It is still difficult, based on the registrations, to make a prediction on who will be the favorites at the start, but it is to be believed that Emanuele Spica (Rolling Bike) will go after the third success after those in Vittoria and Nice, while among the women, the first two races rewarded Sofia Eliotropio Filippi (Probike Erice) and Elizabeth Ann Simpson (Rolling Bike). Outgoing champions in Modica are Pierpaolo Ficara and Federica Occhipinti, protagonist of a signature encore.
