Elina Svitolina defeated her compatriot Anhelina Kalinina 2-0 in the first round of the Dubai tournament. In the first set, the higher-ranked Svitolina had no problems – she won 6:3. The result of the second part of the match was decided by a tie-break, because the Ukrainian women played evenly, game by game. Interestingly, Kalinina was leading 6:5 and had a chance to win the set, but Svitolina equalized, leading to a tie-break, which she won 7:6 (9-7).

In the second round she faced Tatjana Maria. In the first set, after a 2-2 draw, the Ukrainian won three games in a row, gave up one and finally ended the set with a score of 6-3. Svitolina started the second part of the match by losing her serve, but then she managed to win two games (3:1) and never lost that advantage. She won the set 6:3 and the entire match 2:0.
Świątek started her competition in Dubai in the second round (she had a free fate in the first round), in which she lost to American Sloane Stephens in two sets. In the first set, from 1:1 to 4:4, both players lost their serves. In the ninth game, Świątek managed to overcome her weakness and serve successfully. The Pole won one more game and the entire game 6:4. The second set had an identical course – only from a 4:4 draw, Świątek won two games in a row and won 6:4.
The best racket in the world faced Svitolina twice – the first time in Rome in 2021. Then Świątek won on clay courts. Two years later, the Ukrainian took revenge on the Pole, eliminating her from Wimbledon.
