Workers at Monte de Piedad would vote again on strike if there is no agreement – El Sol de México

13 days after the strike broke out at the National Monte de Piedad, negotiations continue at the conciliation tables in which authorities from the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) and the Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registration participate ( CFCRL).

Both the administration of the Private Assistance Institution (IAP) and the union leadership are working to try to reach an agreement.

If this agreement is not reached under the Mediation Agreement proposed by the Ministry of Labor, the federal labor judge for Collective Affairs, Karina Pérez Guzmán, defined that the workers must vote for the continuity or lifting of the strike.

And this vote could take place as early as March 4, 5 and 6 at branches across the country.

According to the institution, this vote would be held within the framework of an adverse situation for the effort and for the National Monte de Piedad.

It is reported that from 2019 alone to date “we have lost a third of our clients.” So the clock is ticking for the NMP.

He also highlights that “following all the processes established by the authority, we will be attentive to the decision that the workers make in absolute freedom.”

And he emphasizes that the institution will keep them updated on the course this process takes and its results.

THE DIALOGUE CONTINUES AT THE FEDERAL LABOR CENTER

Separately, the general secretary of the National Union of Employees and Workers of Monte de Piedad (SNETNMP), Arturo Zayún González, told El Sol de México:

“There is nothing yet. We are in dialogue at the Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registration. “We will try to responsibly reach a point of agreement to resolve the issue of the strike.”
