Women’s French Cup: PSG, Fleury and Paris FC go to the half, end of the dream for Puy

Before OL travel to Montauban at 6 p.m., the three Ile-de-France clubs played their quarter-final of the Women’s French Cup this Wednesday afternoon.

The Puy Foot 43 epic has come to an end. Mercilessly, the Parisiennes made short work of the Ponotes (4-0). The Dane Amalie Vangsgaard opened the scoring with a poor recovery from the Puy defense (25th). Raonna Bachmann doubled the lead on a serve from Lieke Martens just before the break (43rd).

Asphyxiated by the attacks of PSG, Puy Foot 43 definitively abandoned the hope of coming back by conceding a third goal through Vangsgaard (74th). Returning during the match, midfielder Sandy Baltimore took part in the party in the 89th minute. Paris Saint-Germain is looking for a new title after its last in 2022.

In the other 2 p.m. match, FC Fleury 91 validated its ticket for the semi-finals by easily defeating LOSC (5-1) who collapsed in the second half.

The score was 1-1 at the break but Fleury-Mérogis took off with exploits from Dominika Grabowska (63rd and 72nd) and Kouassi (76th) before seeing Charlotte Fernandes conclude a sunny afternoon in Essonne.

FC Fleury 91 joins the final four for the third year in a row. Never finalists, Fabrice Abriel’s players will try to qualify for the final for the first time.

Paris FC also validates its ticket by beating RC Lens 4-0. Louise Fleury (53rd) opened the scoring before seeing French international Clara Mateo perform a magnificent sequence followed by a curling shot into the top corner (63rd). Slovenian defender Kaja Korošec scored (80th) before Mateo did it again in added time to score the double (90+1st).

The draw for the semi-finals will take place on February 19 at noon. The semi-finals are scheduled for March 10.
