AS Roma, with the scoring substitute Dean Huijsen, won against Cagliari with playful ease. The team that will face Feyenoord in the Europa League next week played brilliantly and won 4-0.
Rick Karsdorp was in the starting line-up, just like former NAC and PSV player Angeliño. It was his debut for the Spaniard.
In the duel between student (Daniele de Rossi) and master (Claudio Ranieri), De Rossi was the boss of his former coach on all fronts. Barely a minute had been played when AS Roma already took the lead.
After a corner from Paulo Dybala, the ball ended up at the feet of Lorenzo Pellegrini, who simply shot the ball behind goalkeeper Simone Scuffet: 1-0. Roma continued to storm afterwards, which resulted in Bryan Cristante’s shot on the post after eight minutes.

When Romelu Lukaku stepped over the ball after Pellegrini’s touch, the defenders of the Sardinia club were completely lost and the Argentinian was able to finish Dybala coolly.

Just before half time, referee Matteo Marcenaro pointed to the spot for a penalty from Cagliari after an alleged foul by Diego Llorente, but the VAR pointed out to him that Cagliari striker Gianluca Lapadula first committed a foul himself.

That was reason for De Rossi, who succeeded the fired José Mourinho in January, to make a change. One of three substitutes was Dean Huijsen, who will not be there against Feyenoord. Huijsen was not registered for the Europa League.
Less than five minutes after his entrance, Huijsen headed home from a corner from Leandro Paredes. It was the first goal in Serie A for the 18-year-old Dutchman. Afterwards the score could have risen even further, but the guests were spared that.
With the victory, coach De Rossi has now won three times in his first three games as coach. This weekend, leader Internazionale is the opponent.
