What a Superpower Man City is

Manchester

Manchester City continues to step on the gas towards the end of the season. The Citizens those that are hotter are said to have this superpower.

Manchester City had a bit of a hiccup in the first half of this season. In the period from late September to mid-December, they only achieved four wins in 11 Premier League matches (4 draws, 3 defeats).

But the situation changed after Man City won the Club World Cup. Success in the tournament provided momentum to string together six consecutive wins in the Premier League, including overcoming Everton 2-0 at the Etihad, Saturday (10/2/2024) evening WIB.

For the record, Pep Guardiola’s troops have also not failed to win since their 3-0 victory over Urawa Reds in the Club World Cup semifinals. The 10 consecutive wins achieved shows how Erling Haaland et al are getting hotter as they approach the crucial phase.

Peaking at this right moment, plus the experience to overcome the pressure of competition, is what makes Man City continue to be favored in the title race. Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand mentioned another thing that makes them so strong: squad depth.

“This is an end-of-season affair and it seems like one of City’s superpowers is that they can change players and the result doesn’t change,” he was quoted as saying BBC.

“The standard has not dropped, no other team in Europe can do it. They are already such a strong team and have players who are difference makers throughout the team, plus City’s reserve players can walk into other Premier League teams,” added Ferdinand .
