VITERBO – Defeat away for WeCOM-Ortoetruria who were beaten 71-46 on the parquet of league leaders Virtus Roma. Once again the team from Viterbo paid for a lackluster start to the match which left the Romans’ attack with wide margins to create a heavy break which the Viterbo team were no longer able to overcome during the rest of the match. Only 8 points scored by the Biancostellati against the 29 of the hosts to whom, in truth, the Stella Azzurra conceded only a total of 42 points in the following three quarters against the 38 scored by the Tuscia boys. However, unfortunately it was a late balance which, although it saw a good reaction from the Viterbo team, reiterated the need to work with maximum commitment to avoid starting the match which could then create problems over the total 40′ period.
Nothing to say about the strength of coach Tonolli’s team, complete in every department and full of quality, competitive spirit and ability to best manage every game situation. A certainly lackluster performance from WeCOM-Ortoetruria who paid for a week with only one training session in their legs due to flu symptoms which affected the staff and players who took to the pitch and were not yet in the best condition.
A defeat which, however, does not change the Star’s ranking in any way considering the concomitant setbacks of Valdiceppo and Carver. Now we immediately think about the next two matches, starting with next Sunday’s home match against L’Aquila which will precede the last match of the regular season scheduled in Isernia.
Two important matches that will serve to outline the position of the Blue Star in the clock phase that the boys from Viterbo, beyond the absurd formula that regulates it, want to play at their best to continue in the beautiful season that is giving so much satisfaction to Tuscia basketball .
