Wagner Brothers Lead Orlando Magic to Victory in NBA Play-off Battle

Basketball world champions Moritz and Franz Wagner led the Orlando Magic to an important victory in the battle for the NBA play-offs. Moritz Wagner was his team’s top scorer in the 116:109 win against the Cleveland Cavaliers with 22 points, and he also collected seven rebounds off the bench – also a record. With 14 points, brother Franz was the Magic’s second best shooter, who won four games in the last five games.

Orlando remains within striking distance of sixth place in the Eastern Conference, which guarantees direct play-off participation. Qualifying for the post-season will be significantly more difficult for national team captain Dennis Schröder and his new team Brooklyn Nets, who are in eleventh place in the East.

After the one-week break due to the All-Star Game, Schröder received a slap against his old team Toronto Raptors 93:121. The 30-year-old, who last wore the Raptors jersey on February 7th, failed to score four points and only hit one of his seven shots from the field. Since his move, Brooklyn has only won one of four games.

On the other hand, the German professionals Maximilian Kleber and Isaiah Hartenstein were successful and their teams remain on course for the play-offs. Kleber celebrated his seventh win in a row with his Dallas Mavericks, 123:113, scoring seven points. Hartenstein won with the New York Knicks 110:96 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
