A fight, with the use of knives, bars and even operating machines, took place around midnight today, Friday 23 February 2024, at the agri-food center of Turin, in Strada del Portone in Grugliasco. The protagonists are some Egyptians involved in the movement of goods. There would be two injured in quite serious conditions, transported to the San Luigi hospital in Orbassano. One would have had his leg crushed with an operating machine and another would have been beaten with an iron pipe. In any case, no one’s life is in danger.
The Carabinieri from the Rivoli company intervened but when they arrived everything was over and they were not stopped. The circumstances are still being investigated and complaints are being collected. From an initial reconstruction, everything would have arisen from the fact that one of the workers had started eating oranges intended for sale. Some workers, who did not participate in the brawl, are exasperated by the situation: “Here we experience a situation of lack of security and supervision, illegal immigration, drug dealing and illegal work on a daily basis”, they tell TorinoToday.
