Vicenza-Triestina: a heartfelt Triveneto derby

Beautiful view of the stadium Romeo Menti for this very heartfelt Triveneto derby, which pits Vicenza and Trieste, two of the best fans in Serie C. The anticipation is always high for these matches, among other things the teams are also tied in the standings in third place in the group A with 46 points after 27 days. Given that Mantua and Padua are now unattainable, today’s is a small play-off for a third position in the standings which, at the end of the season, will be worth a few rounds less than the exhausting lottery of the promotion play-offs.

Lanerossi is on a strong recovery after four victories in a row and the rift between fans and players seems to have been, if not healed, at least calmed. After the change of coach and the exit in the January transfer window of those who the public deemed “rotten apples”, the whole of Sud Berica is ready to give their best to achieve a new victory. THE Very faithful instead, even though the protest is over, they still prefer to watch the matches in silence.

The wall of the Curva Sud in Vicenza today appears granite and compact, there is a desire to be heard and this can be seen from the first minutes of the match with excellent chants. Much of the curve follows the choir launchers, the classic “Lane-Lanerossi alè” returns which even on its own is enough to always make a great impression and light up everyone’s hearts and voices. Worth noting is the beautiful smoke bomb at the start of the race, very successful and impactful. In front of a historic rival fan base and with Vicenza playing well and winning 2-0, today the Curva Sud had no problems and the support was excellent. The twins of Udine and Reggio Emilia were present with the people from Vicenza. THE Very faithful they stand out for a banner dedicated to Furlan that reads “Stefano Presente”, which is followed by applause from the people of Trieste.

The halberd curve, fresh from a great work carried out to honor the 40 years since the death of poor Stefano Furlan (8 February 1984), with among other things events still present and planned in the city, primarily the exhibition “With your name on” , faces the away game in Vicenza not exactly with the wind in his sails. There have already been three consecutive defeats and the atmosphere, after the dismissal of Mr. Tesser, a luxury for Serie C, is certainly not the best. Tension is high with the club and the players and the Union fans are starting to get tired. However, there are 230 Trieste players present today, even if the latest defeats have discouraged many and the large trip that everyone was expecting until just twenty days ago, has ultimately been scaled down due to the difficult period on the pitch. But those present, those always willing to make sacrifices and be there first and foremost for the city and for the shirt, certainly have no lack of desire to support the Alabarda. Curva Furlan e San Giacomo Group they never stop cheering. Only at the end of the match, disappointed by yet another subpar performance from the players, do they let out harsh words towards the team.
