Hamburg had already won the first leg four weeks ago with 111:94. The Towers continued this performance from the start even without the ailing Aljami Durham and were already 8-0 ahead after a short time. The hosts remained the dominant team under both baskets and extended their lead to 16 points in the second quarter.

Rostock then came out of the locker room better and briefly created tension again after Goodwin reduced the score to 57:64 with a dunk. But the Towers recovered and pulled away again. Three minutes before the end, Jonas Wohlfahrt-Bottermann made it 101:82 after a remarkable pass from Vincent King. With that the game was decided.
