Venezuelan Professional Baseball League Suspends Félix Doubront and Bruce Rondón for Anti-Doping Violations

The Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) announced this Wednesday that pitchers Félix Doubront and Bruce Rondón were suspended for violating the Anti-Doping Program in the recently concluded 2023-2024 campaign.

Doubront (Bravos de Margarita) was tested on December 6, while Rondón (Tigres de Aragua) completed the test on December 21.

On January 5, 2024, the result obtained from the first test was received and on January 17, that of the second. Both were analyzed by the UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory of the United States of America.

Once the files and evidence were evaluated, the LVBP decided to suspend both players for 30 games based on Article 30 of the PALVBP.

Players may file an appeal within twenty-four (24) hours following notification of the ruling, protected by article 40 of Chapter V of the LVBP Code of Ethics and Discipline.
