Valter Basteri, together with his Italian teammates Giuseppe Seimandi and Simone Barbieri, is European champion. The archer from Massa won the team title in the Naked Bow division in the continental indoor event taking place in Varazdin, Croatia. And it was the home national team that beat Italy without difficulty in the final with a clear score of 6 to 0, deserving the gold medal. The blue dominance was total and the superiority is well exemplified by the scores 53-50, 55-48 and 50-48 with which Curic, Marosevic and Velagic were beaten. For Basteri from Massa, this is the second European team medal after the silver one won in 2022 in Slovenia. Valter, who competes for the Compagnia Frecce Apuane di Massa, will return to Italy tomorrow evening and will certainly be celebrated by his club as well as by friends and relatives. A sportingly rewarding February ends for him given that the previous week he had won the Italian team title, both overall and class, and the individual Master title in Pordenone.
